ADDITIONAL BAIL FOR TEEN CHARGED IN REVERE, BOSTON STABBINGS

A Dorchester youth already charged with multiple stabbings in Boston was arraigned today for additional offenses he allegedly committed in Revere, Suffolk County District attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

The 16-YEAR-OLD MALE, whose name is not being released because of his age, was charged in Chelsea District Court with delinquency, to wit: armed assault with intent to murder, breaking and entering, and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $100,000 cash, an amount above and beyond the $1.5 million bail set following his arraignment in the Juvenile Session of Dorchester District Court earlier this month.

Should the juvenile make bail, Conley said, he will be subject to house arrest, must wear a GPS monitor, and must stay away from the victims in the case.

The juvenile is charged with stabbing one female, age 42, and beat another, age 14, in their Raymond Road home on Feb. 7. Both victims were known to the juvenile and that incident was not random, Conley said.

At the time of the incident, the youth is believed to have been on the run from a Feb. 3 incident in Dorchester during which he allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab and slash a female family member, age 51, multiple times in the throat, arm, and hand. He also allegedly slashed a 17-year-old female family member in the face. A 29-year-old female and a 6-year-old female, also family members, suffered less serious injuries. None of the victims’ injuries were life-threatening.

Revere Police captured the youth on Feb. 9 after a search by Boston, Revere, and State police. After a foot pursuit through areas of Revere, officers located him in a recycling bin near the intersection of Ridge Road and Tudor Street. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

The juvenile is represented by attorney Ziyad Hopkins. He will return to Chelsea court on March 5.
