Alleged Gunman Held in December Homicide

BOSTON, March 10, 2015—The man who allegedly murdered William Davis in broad daylight on Dudley Street last year was held without bail at his arraignment today, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

AMIR RICHARDSON (D.O.B. 3/16/91) of Dorchester was held without bail at the request of Assistant District Attorney Tara Burdman. He is charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Burdman, the homicide prosecutor assigned to the case since Davis’ shooting death, told the court that a man in a distinctive red top, later identified as Richardson, fired six shots at the 20-year-old victim, hitting him three times, before fleeing in a GMC Terrain already occupied by two other men. That vehicle drove to a Woodville Street residence, which the three occupants entered.

The two other men in the vehicle were identified as PAUL FRANCIS (D.O.B. 11/27/90) of Quincy and MARQUEESE SKINNER (D.O.B. 12/18/87) of Dorchester. The Terrain had been leased to Franklin’s girlfriend and Skinner’s girlfriend lived at the Woodville Street residence.

A search of the vehicle turned up a red jacket.  That jacket tested positive for gunshot residue, as did Richardson’s hands. Also recovered from the vehicle was a revolver containing six spent shell casings; two of the rounds recovered from Davis’ body were ballistically matched to that revolver.

Boston Police arrested Richardson last night on a warrant that issued Feb. 25. Francis and Skinner were arrested that day and arraigned the next day for gun offenses and being accessories after the fact to Davis’ murder. They have been held on $25,000 cash bail since that time.

Richardson was represented by attorney Liam Scully. He will return to court on April 9.
