Arraignment Tomorrow For Man Who Disrupted Murder Trial

A man is in custody today and faces arraignment tomorrow for disrupting a murder trial last week, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

Boston Police today arrested DENNIS JONES (D.O.B. 1/5/67), formerly of New Jersey but most recently living in Dorchester, on a warrant charging him with intimidation of a witness and disrupting a court proceeding. He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow in the Boston Municipal Court.

On Feb. 22, Jones was seated in the gallery of a Suffolk Superior Court courtroom during prosecution testimony in a quadruple homicide trial. He is accused of standing up and shouting at the witness on the stand, calling that witness a “rat” and a “snitch.” Court officers immediately escorted him from the courtroom.

Jones is not related to anyone involved in the proceedings.

After consultation with senior Suffolk prosecutors, Boston Police detectives assigned to the DA’s Special Investigations Unit identified and began searching for Jones last week. They sought and obtained the assistance of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit, which located and arrested him today. Conley thanked Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis and commended the Fugitive Unit for their efforts.

The arraignment session of the Boston Municipal Court opens at 9:00.
