BU Student Charged With Sexual Assault at Dorm

A Boston University student from Canada was ordered to surrender his passport to Massachusetts authorities after allegedly sexually assaulting a female student at a university dormitory this weekend, Suffolk county District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

COREY TRIVINO (D.O.B. 1/12/90) was arraigned yesterday in Brighton District Court on charges that he forced his way into a female student’s room at 10 Buick St. and repeatedly groped her late Sunday night.

Assistant District Attorney William Champlin IV recommended that Trivino be held on $2500 cash bail, that he be ordered to stay away from the victim and BU dorms, and that he be ordered to surrender his passport while his case is open.

Judge David T. Donnelly released Trivino on his own recognizance but imposed all of Champlin’s recommended conditions of release. Donnelly ordered that Trivino may use his passport, but must post $25,000 before it is released to him.

Boston University Police responded to the scene just before 11:00 p.m. The victim told the officers that Trivino had forced his way into her room, tried to kiss her, and groped her repeatedly after she asked him and a group of others to abide by the dormitory’s mandatory quiet hours. Trivino allegedly refused to leave her room even when she resisted his advances and told him he needed to go. Only when the victim called for help on the phone did Trivino run out of the room, she said.

Boston University Police soon encountered Trivino in an elevator and observed him to be visibly intoxicated. When asked where he lived, he allegedly gave the victim’s room number. At Trivino’s request, BUPD officers notified the Canadian consulate was notified once he was taken into custody.

Trivino will return to court on Jan. 18.
