BOSTON, Dec. 10, 2013—A woman found suffering from serious injuries on Broadway early this morning has died and authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying her assailant, Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said today.

The woman has been identified as a Revere resident in her 40s. Her name will be released when full family notifications have been completed.

Chelsea Police responded to the area of Broadway and Congress Avenue just after 1:00 this morning for a report of a woman lying in the street. Civilian witnesses told police that the woman had been walking from the direction of nearby Everett Avenue when she fell to the ground.

Emergency medical technicians rushed her to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she died later this morning. Her death is now being investigated as a homicide. Chelsea Police detectives and homicide detectives assigned to the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit are leading that investigation. They are assisted by the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and other specialized units.
