Chelsea Homicide Victim Identified

BOSTON, Oct. 2, 2017—The Chelsea man who died this weekend of injuries he suffered in an apparent drive-by shooting on Congress Avenue has been identified as Eduardo Troche, 37, Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes and Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

Chelsea Police detectives and the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit have been investigating the shooting since Tuesday evening, when the city’s ShotSpotter system detected multiple gunshots at about 7:45 pm. Investigators continue to urge anyone with information on the incident, including people or vehicles in the area of Congress Avenue near Shawmut Street at about that time, to share their knowledge with police.

Troche and a young woman were rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital following the shooting. Troche succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night. The female victim is recovering from her injuries and expected to survive.
