Chelsea Man Sought in Chester Avenue Homicide

BOSTON, Dec. 14, 2014—Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said they are searching for a Chelsea resident in connection with a double shooting in a Chester Avenue residence that left one man dead and another injured early yesterday morning.

Suffolk prosecutors yesterday approved a warrant charging HECTOR ENAMORADO (D.O.B. 10/22/78) with murder. Anyone who knows Enamorado’s location should contact Chelsea Police or State Police at the numbers below.

Chelsea Police responded to a residence on Chester Avenue near Shawmut Street at about 3:05 yesterday morning for a report of a person shot. On arrival, they found a 34-year-old man outside the building who directed officers to an apartment inside. Officers entered that apartment and found a 29-year-old man also suffering from a gunshot wound. Both victims were rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

The 29-year-old victim was pronounced dead of his injuries at the hospital. Investigators have not yet notified his next of kin, so his name is not being released this evening. The 34-year-old man was admitted for treatment of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. Both men were Chelsea residents, but neither lived at the building where they were found.

The Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit, which has jurisdiction over death investigations in Chelsea, responded to the scene, assisted by State Police Crime Scene Services Section and other specialized units. With Chelsea Police, they have been conducting interviews and gathering evidence since their initial response.

Kyes and Conley said investigators have made significant progress, but urged anyone with information on the incident or Enamorado’s whereabouts to share it with detectives. Tipsters can contact Chelsea Police detectives at 617-466-4843. Those who wish to remain anonymous may also call the Chelsea Police CrimeStoppers tip line at617-466-4880, text the word CHELSEA and their information to TIP411 (847411), or submit information online at www.ChelseaPolice.com.  Tipsters may also call the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.
