BOSTON, Dec. 19, 2013—A Mansfield man was held on high bail this week at his arraignment for allegedly trying to lure a 16-year-old girl into sexual exploitation through emails and text messages, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

SEAN PATRICK WEBB (D.O.B. 4/22/62) was arraigned in Roxbury District Court yesterday on charges of electronic enticement of a child for prostitution, soliciting prostitution, and posing a child in a state of nudity. Assistant District Attorney Dana Pierce recommended that he be held on $25,000 cash bail; bail was set at $10,000. At prosecutors’ request, he was ordered to stay away from all children under 16, to stay away from schools and playgrounds, to refrain from computer and internet use, to abide by an 8pm to 6 am curfew, and to wear a GPS tracking device if he posts that amount.

Prosecutors say the case began when a Roxbury woman contacted Boston Police to report finding on her computer a series of emails to her daughter. The email content suggested that the sender was seeking to photograph the 16-year-old daughter in sexualized contexts and included photos of another young teenage girl in adult-themed poses and states of undress.

In subsequent interviews with Boston Police, the girl disclosed that a man she knew as “Patrick” offered her money to pose in lingerie and offered her even more money to engage in sexual activity with him.

Using the email address and cell phone number that “Patrick” provided to the girl, investigators were able to identify him as Webb. Suffolk prosecutors assigned to the DA’s Child Protection Unit obtained a subpoena for records of the email account used to contact the girl, confirming through an associated IP address that it had been used by a person at Webb’s home.

On Dec. 17, Boston Police, Mansfield Police, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Homeland Security Investigations placed him under arrest and executed a search warrant at his home. A forensic examination of the computers and storage devices seized is ongoing.

Webb was represented at arraignment by attorney Josh Cohen. He will return to court on Jan. 9.
