Continued Investigation Leads to Indictment, Arrest in 2013 Homicide

BOSTON, Feb. 21, 2015–A long-term investigation by Boston Police homicide detectives and Suffolk prosecutors has led to the indictment and arrest of a Roxbury man for the fatal shooting of Ahmir Lee, 22, in 2013, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley and Boston Police Commissioner William B. Evans said today.

The Suffolk County Grand Jury yesterday returned indictments charging MICHAEL JORDAN (D.O.B. 6/21/87) with first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm for the Aug. 22, 2013, homicide in Copley Square. Those indictments triggered an arrest warrant that Boston Police executed this morning.  Jordan is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on Monday.

Boston Police responded to the area of 553 Boylston St. just after 11:00 pm for a report of a person shot. They located Lee suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.  In the days, weeks, and months that followed, police and prosecutors pursued numerous avenues of investigation that finally led to evidence supporting this week’s indictments.

Additional details are expected at Monday’s arraignment.
