Drug Investigation Yields Fentanyl Stash

BOSTON, Dec. 7, 2015—A Mattapan drug dealer is charged with multiple drug offenses after Boston Police recovered large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine when they executed a search warrant based on multiple undercover drug buys, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

TYRONE WILSON (D.O.B. 8/21/86) was arraigned Dec. 2 in Dorchester Municipal Court on charges of trafficking in a Class B substance for 19 grams of powder and crack cocaine and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute for 11 grams of fentanyl, all recovered in his Regis Street home.

“Massachusetts had the second highest number of fentanyl seizures in the country last year,” Conley said. “It’s a major concern for police, prosecutors, and public health officials.”

Wilson is also charged in West Roxbury Municipal Court, where he was arraigned Nov. 13 on four counts of distribution of a Class B substance, four counts of possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute as a second or subsequent offense, two counts of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and one count of distribution of a Class D substance. Those charges stem from a series of undercover drug buys made by the District 5 Drug Control Unit.

Wilson is held on a total of $85,000 cash bail. He is charged as a repeat offender in light of a 2009 case charging distribution of a Class B substance that was continued without a finding until 2010, when he was charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute. The 2009 case was put back on the trial track and, like the 2010 case, ended with a guilty finding and two-year suspended sentence.

Prosecutors say Boston Police purchased drugs from Wilson in the Roslindale area on four separate dates between Nov. 4 and 9. Based on those purchases, they obtained warrants to arrest him and search his Regis Street home.

On Nov. 12, officers observed Wilson leave his home, enter a vehicle, and drive onto Rosewood Street. The officers stopped him and placed him under arrest. Additional officers executed the search warrant and recovered the drugs, 25 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition, $1676 in cash, and evidence of drug distribution including cut-off plastic baggies and a digital scale.

Wilson will return to West Roxbury court on Dec. 11 and Dorchester court on Jan. 4.
