DV Suspect, Bank Robbery Convict Charged in Weekend Attacks on Women

BOSTON, Feb. 5, 2013—A convicted bank robber scheduled for trial next week on domestic violence charges is now charged with violently raping two women in separate but very similar scenarios this past weekend, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

TIKEE BEVERLY (D.O.B. 1/15/76) of Roxbury was arraigned today on two complaints charging a total of three counts of rape for incidents on the morning of Feb. 2 and Feb. 3. Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Corke recommended that he be held on a total of $200,000 cash bail, that he be ordered to stay away from the victims and witnesses in the case, and that the victim’s names and personal information be kept confidential. Roxbury District Court Judge David Poole imposed a total of $60,000 cash bail and all recommended orders. Beverly was represented by attorney Sandra Odiaga.

At the time of the incidents, Beverly was on supervised release following a 2003 federal conviction for armed robbery and was free on bail for an alleged assault and battery committed on a domestic partner this summer. In the latter case, prosecutors had requested that he be held on $1,000 cash bail; a judge released him on his own recognizance. That case is scheduled for trial on Feb. 11 in Dorchester District Court.

Beverly is accused of approaching one adult female Saturday morning, engaging her in conversation, and ultimately sexually assaulting her in an abandoned property in the area of 2900 Washington St. That woman called Boston Police and provided a description of the assailant’s clothing, voice, and ethnicity, along with his approximate age, height, and weight.

Beverly is additionally accused of approaching a second adult female on Sunday morning and engaging her in conversation as well. As he is accused of doing less than 24 hours previously, he allegedly led her to the same abandoned property and sexually assaulted her. She, too, was able to provide Sexual Assault Unit detectives with a description of the attacker.

Yesterday afternoon, as a result of interviews and additional evidence developed in the course of the investigation, a Boston Police officer spotted Beverly on Notre Dame Street and noted his strong resemblance to the descriptions provided separately by the victims. As Beverly walked on Columbus Avenue, the officer began to approach him and Beverly allegedly began walking toward Washington Street and the Boston Police District 13 station. The officer stopped him.

As additional officers responded to assist, Beverly identified himself by name and stated that he was going to the station “to clear my name.” When asked if he wanted to go to the District 2 station to talk, he agreed to do so. At the conclusion of a recorded interview, detectives placed him under arrest.
