Excessive Window Tint Leads to Three Guns, Marijuana

A Dorchester man with one gun conviction to his credit and an Everett associate with multiple drug convictions were held on $75,000 cash bail each this week following their arraignments for sharing possession of three unregistered handguns, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

EMMANUEL JEUDI (D.O.B. 3/26/85) and ROBENS PIERRE (D.O.B. 9/3/89) were arraigned Wednesday in Dorchester District Court on three counts each of unlawful possession of a firearm. Jeudi, who served a year behind bars for that offense following a 2005 gun arrest, was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute. Pierre was additionally charged as a Level I armed career criminal because of 2008 convictions for possession of Class B and Class D substances with intent to distribute.

Assistant District Attorney Brendan Cox told the court that Boston Police observed a green 2000 Nissan Maxima traveling inbound on Blue Hill Avenue at about 11:20 Tuesday morning and noted excessive aftermarket tinting on its windows. The officers ran the vehicle’s plates and found that its owner, Jeudi, had a suspended driver’s license.

The officers activated their lights and sirens and stopped the car. As they approached, they detected the scent of fresh marijuana. The officers established that Jeudi was operating the car and placed him under arrest for driving after suspension. During a search of his person, they found a plastic bag of marijuana weighing more than one ounce.

Pierre was asked to exit the car as the officers performed an inventory of its contents prior to towing it. As they went through the trunk, Pierre allegedly became visibly nervous and had difficulty meeting the officers’ eyes. Seconds later, one of the officers placed his hand on a backpack in the trunk and felt a hard object consistent with the size and shape of a firearm.

In fact, the backpack contained three firearms: an HNR Sportsman .22 caliber revolver; a Sturm, Ruger & Co. Super Blackhawk .44 magnum revolver; and a Tanfoglio Gardone .22 caliber revolver.
The officers then placed Pierre under arrest as well. The officers asked both men if they had licenses to carry firearms. Pierre allegedly stated he didn’t have a license. Jeudi allegedly said that he didn’t have a gun.

Officers checked Jeudi’s windows with a tint meter and found them excessively tinted, allowing through less than half of Massachusetts’ legal minimum for visible light transmission. Jeudi was civilly cited for that offense.

Jeudi was represented by attorney Anne Rousseve and Pierre by attorney Susan Rayburn. Judge Robert Baylor ordered both men to return to appear in the Suffolk County Gun Court on Nov. 8.
