Grand Jury Returns Indictments in Hyde Park Double Murder

The Suffolk County Grand Jury this afternoon returned indictments charging two Mattapan men with the July homicides of 24-year-old Billie Kee and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Kevin Thomas, in their Hyde Park apartment, District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

The indictments charge MICHAEL T. CORBIN (D.O.B. 11/10/78) and EARL FULGIAM (D.O.B. 4/14/80), with two counts each of first-degree murder and armed robbery, and one count each of unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded weapon, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, all in connection with the July 26 shooting deaths.

Corbin was arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on October 27; Fulgiam was arraigned in the same court on October 31. Both were ordered held without bail.

During those proceedings, Assistant District Attorney John Pappas, Conley’s chief trial counsel, told the court that Kee and Thomas were shot to death inside their apartment at 957 Hyde Park Ave. at about midnight. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A 3-year-old child was found unharmed in the ransacked apartment.

During the course of the investigation, authorities became aware that Thomas was well-acquainted with the defendants, and that his relationship to them appeared to be rooted in the narcotics business. Evidence implicating the defendants was found both inside and outside of the apartment, including the murder weapon.

Following an intensive, months-long investigation, Boston Police homicide detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of both defendants. They arrested Corbin on October 27; Fulgiam had been incarcerated at the Massachusetts Correctional Institute at Cedar Junction awaiting trial on an unrelated matter and was arraigned separately.

Corbin is represented by attorney William White. Fulgiam is represented by attorney John Miller. Both men will remain in custody until they are arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court. An arraignment date has not yet been scheduled.
