HIGH BAIL IN CAMPUS STABBING

A Cambridge man’s open bail was revoked and had new bail set at $250,000 cash following his arrest for allegedly stabbing a Boston College student on school property last month.

FRANCISCO “WIZZ” RAMIREZ (D.O.B. 2/22/92) was arraigned this morning in Brighton District Court on a count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon stemming from the stabbing of a 21-year-old male in the early morning hours of Sept. 25. In addition to setting the high bail, Judge David Donnelly also revoked Ramirez’ open bail on a pending drug charge out of Middlesex County.

Ramirez allegedly stabbed the victim during a dispute shortly before 3:20 a.m. near the college’s modular apartments on St. Thomas More Road. When Boston College Police arrived at the scene, they observed a crowd dispersing. Additional officers located the victim, provided first aid, and notified emergency medical technicians, who transported him to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Based on witness statements and a canvas of the area joined by Boston, Newton, and State police, Boston College Police arrested SANTOS CARRASQUILLO (D.O.B. 9/25/89) for allegedly kicking another victim during the same incident. As the investigation continued, Boston College Police developed additional information leading to Ramirez’ identification as a potential suspect.

A witness to the incident identified Ramirez through a photo array, Boston College Police said.

Ramirez was represented today by attorney Esther Horwich. He will return to court on Nov. 18.
