BOSTON, March 30, 2016—Boston Police Commissioner William B. Evans and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley today released video footage depicting an individual who may have valuable information on an active homicide investigation.

At about 2:00 am on Nov. 26, 2015, 30-year-old Jephthe Chery suffered a fatal gunshot wound when he was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight on Yawkey Way.  Investigators believe that Chery was an innocent bystander and had no role in the violence. Three other men were wounded in the gunfight but survived their injuries; one of them, DOMINIQUE CARPENTER-GRADY, has been indicted on firearms charges following his arrest amid the ongoing investigation.

Among the individuals present at the scene during the gunfight was an African-American male wearing a camouflage-print jacket.  This person can be seen on video footage pacing back and forth near the scene prior to the gunfire.

This footage has been released in hopes that the individual or a member of the public who recognizes him will contact homicide detectives with his identity.  At this time, investigators only wish to speak with him about his observations at the scene.  Anyone with information on his identity, the shootings, or Chery’s homicide is asked to contact Boston Police homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.
