Lynn Man Charged In Fatal Revere Hit-And-Run

A Lynn man has been ordered not to drive if he posts the bail set during his arraignment on charges that he left the scene of a collision that took the life of 59-year-old Bianca Moreno near her Revere home this morning, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said today.

EVERTON MUIR (D.O.B. 10/2/84) was arraigned this afternoon in Chelsea District Court on a single count of leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Assistant District Attorney John Lacey, the supervising prosecutor at the Chelsea courthouse, recommended that Muir be held on $10,000 cash bail; Judge James Wexler set bail at $5,000 and ordered Muir to return to court on April 15.

Lacey told the court that Muir was traveling above the 40 mph speed limit when he struck the mother of two near her North Shore Road home at about 6:15 this morning. Investigators believe Muir continued driving, calling his girlfriend and a family member from his cell phone. After those conversations, Muir allegedly went home and called 911.

Muir spoke with Lynn Police, who instructed him to notify Revere Police. Muir did so and surrendered himself about an hour later. After interviews with Revere Police and State Police homicide detectives assigned to Conley’s office, Muir was taken into custody and charged. His 1999 Honda Accord was seized pending the execution of a search warrant.

The investigation by Revere Police, State Police detectives, and members of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section is ongoing, Conley said, and could lead to additional charges.

Muir was represented today by attorney Jamison House.
