Mental Health Screen Ordered after Struggle that Injured Officer

BOSTON, July 14, 2015— A Mattapan man accused of exposing himself to Boston Police officers before injuring an officer during a struggle was sent for a mental health evaluation, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

CARLOS AGRINSONI (D.O.B. 6/8/83) was arraigned in Dorchester Municipal Court on charges of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and open and gross lewdness.  Judge Serge Georges ordered him to undergo an evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital.  Bail arguments were postponed until Agrinsoni returns to court Aug. 4 after the completion of that evaluation; prosecutors’ motions to revoke Agrinsoni’s bail on two cases out of Boston Municipal Court – each charging open and gross lewdness – will also be argued at that time.

Assistant District Attorney Robert Connelly told the court that Boston Police were dispatched to the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Tennis Road shortly before 8:00 p.m. yesterday for a report of a man exposing himself.  Upon officers’ arrival, they observed a man matching the description of the individual who proceeded to lift his shirt and expose himself to police.

The man, later identified as Agrinsoni, attempted to flee before becoming involved in a physical altercation with officers.  Agrinsoni and one officer fell to the ground during the struggle, causing injuries to the officer that were treated at Boston Medical Center.

Agrinsoni was able to flee and climb through a basement window into his Tennis Road residence.  He was taken into custody at the address.

Agrinsoni was represented by Daryll Malden.
