Murder Verdicts in 2012 Double Homicide

BOSTON, Dec. 4, 2015—The man who gunned down Victor Otoadese and Sean Repetto in broad daylight three years ago was convicted of their murders today, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

After seven days of testimony and five days of deliberations, a Suffolk Superior Court jury convicted KEON MONTEIRO (D.O.B. 3/19/89) of two counts of second-degree murder and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. He faces a mandatory life term when he is sentenced Monday morning.

“Some cases can be solved in a few days, and others take months or even years,” Conley said. “What matters most is getting it right and building a prosecution that will stand up in court. These verdicts are the direct result of careful, patient, painstaking efforts by Boston Police homicide detectives and Suffolk prosecutors. I hope they bring some measure of satisfaction to Victor’s and Sean’s families.”

Monteiro – who, like Otoadese and Repetto, was a Quincy resident – was seen with the victims shortly before they were killed.  Prosecution testimony proved that he shot both men in the head in the area of Batchelder and East Cottage streets in Roxbury at about 2:45 pm on Nov. 28, 2012. Moments later, Monteiro was spotted running from the scene with a gun in his hand.

Otoadese died shortly after the shooting; Repetto succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 6.

Boston Police homicide detectives arrested Monteiro on May 16, 2013, amid an exhaustive investigation into the double slaying that continued for two more months behind the closed doors of the Suffolk County Grand Jury.

Assistant District Attorney Craig Iannini tried the case. Jennifer Sears was the DA’s assigned victim-witness advocate. Monteiro was represented by attorney John Tardif.
