NO BAIL FOR MAN ACCUSED OF MURDERING WIFE

A Dorchester man was ordered held without bail today on a murder charge stemming from the strangulation of his wife, 39-year-old Victoria Paron, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said today.

Assistant District Attorney David Deakin, Conley’s senior domestic violence prosecutor and chief of the DA’s Family Protection and Sexual Assault Bureau, said ROGER PARON, Jr. (D.O.B. 4/30/59) killed her Sept. 4 in a residence they shared on Bicknell Street.

“More than almost any other crime, domestic violence afflicts people of every age, ethnicity, income, and orientation,” Conley said. “If you’re in an abusive relationship, or if you know someone who is, we’re ready to help. No one should have to live in fear of an intimate partner.”

Conley urged victims of any crime, including intimate partner violence, to call 911 in an emergency. SafeLink, a statewide domestic violence hotline, can be reached at 877-785-2020.

Deakin said that Boston Police began an investigation into Victoria Paron’s well-being and Roger Paron’s whereabouts on Saturday afternoon. The next day, they located Roger Paron near the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Blue Hill Avenue.

When asked where his wife was, Deakin said, Paron told police, “She’s dead. I killed her.”

Police took him into custody and again asked where his wife was. Roger Paron at that point allegedly told them that she was at their Bicknell Street home.

Boston Police responded to the residence a short time later and found her lifeless body inside, Deakin told the court.

In addition to holding Paron without bail, Dorchester District Court Judge James Coffey ordered him to return to court on Oct. 12 with attorney Willie Davis.
