BOSTON, May 9, 2017— The Arizona man accused in the 1988 murders of William Medina and Antonio Dos Reis was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today – nearly 30 years after the killings, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

CARLTON HENDERSON (D.O.B. 7/13/64) was arraigned today in Roxbury Municipal Court on two counts of murder.  At the request of Assistant District Attorney David Fredette, Judge Lisa Grant ordered Henderson held without bail.

Boston Police responded to the area of Windsor Street in Roxbury on the night of May 7, 1988 and located Medina and Dos Reis suffering from gunshot wounds.  Both men were taken to area hospitals, where they died of their injuries.

Evidence gathered in the aftermath of the killings and in the nearly three decades since led Suffolk prosecutors to approve murder charges against Henderson.  He was taken into custody in Missouri last month and returned to Massachusetts yesterday.

Katherine Moran is the DA’s assigned victim-witness advocate.  Henderson is represented by John Amabile.  He returns to court June 22.
