No Bail in Delhi Street Homicide

BOSTON, June 26, 2017—A Roxbury man was held without bail today following his arraignment on a murder charge in the June 13 shooting death of 19-year-old Javoni Boyd on Delhi Street, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

At the request of Assistant District Attorney Craig Iannini, Dorchester Municipal Court Judge Serge Georges ordered JAKYRES McKINNEY (D.O.B. 11/22/91) held without bail.

Based on evidence developed in the ongoing investigation into Boyd’s fatal shooting, including forensic and ballistics evidence linking McKinney to the homicide, investigators obtained a warrant for McKinney’s death last week. Members of the Boston Police Fugitive and Homicide units apprehended him late yesterday in Hyde Park.

McKinney was represented by attorney John Amabile. He will return to court on July 26.
