JAQUAN SHEPARD (D.O.B. 12/23/97) was arraigned today in Dorchester Municipal Court today on a charge of murder in connection with Demings’ Dec. 19 shooting death.  At the request of Assistant District Attorney Thomas Flanagan of the DA’s Homicide Unit, Shepard was ordered held without bail.

Flanagan told the court that Shepard shot the victim multiple times in the area of Bowdoin Street on the afternoon of Dec. 19.  Boston Police homicide detectives and Suffolk homicide prosecutors identified Shepard through surveillance camera images, witness statements, and other evidence.

A warrant for Shepard’s arrest was issued Saturday.  He was taken into custody earlier today when he surrendered himself to Boston Police.
