No Bail in Fatal Causeway Street Stabbing

BOSTON, April 12, 2018—The man who allegedly stabbed 53-year-old Darryl Noles on Tuesday night, killing him, was arraigned today on a murder charge, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

MARK W. LOVE, 55, of Malden was arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court today following his arrest yesterday by Boston Police homicide detectives. At the request of Assistant District Attorney David Bradley, Judge Eleanor Sinnott ordered him held without bail.

Bradley told the court that Noles, a Medford resident, suffered multiple stab wounds during an encounter on Causeway Street at about 10:45 Tuesday night. Boston EMS transported him to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early yesterday morning.

Throughout the day yesterday, investigators reviewed video footage and interviewed multiple witnesses. The evidence suggests that Love and Noles were known to one another; that they had a confrontation in the area of Causeway and Portland streets during which Noles was stabbed; and that Love later admitted stabbing the man to a witness. Witness statements led investigators to a black-handled knife alleged to be the murder weapon near the scene.

Love was represented by attorney Liam Scully. He will return to court on May 11.
