Officials Renew Call for Assistance in Triple Homicide Investigation

BOSTON, Aug. 17, 2012—Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley today renewed their call for assistance in the investigation into the shooting deaths of Kirsten Lartey, Sharrice Perkins, and Genevieve Phillips.

Officials welcome any information from members of the public, but are specifically asking individuals with knowledge of the facts and circumstances of the Aug. 12 incident to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.

What authorities need now are witnesses who can provide specific information, not hunches or guesses. Detectives hope to speak with individuals with that type of information and ask that potential tipsters contact them directly.

Boston Police homicide detectives and Suffolk homicide prosecutors have been investigating the deaths of Lartey, Perkins, and Philips since Sunday night, when they and a fourth woman who survived her injuries were shot inside a motor vehicle at about 9:20 p.m. in the area of 36 Harlem Street, Dorchester.

Similarly, Commissioner Davis and District Attorney Conley have been in regular contact to discuss the investigation and the multiple avenues of inquiry that police and prosecutors are following in an effort to find justice for the victims and their families. They said investigators continue to consider all possible motives.

“In this case and in every homicide, Boston police and Suffolk prosecutors are working hand in hand to find the facts and build the case,” the two officials said. “We’re pursuing several good theories and we don’t believe this was a random attack. The victims’ families, their communities, and the public at large can have confidence that we are working together with a singular goal: to speak for these young women and hold the person or persons who committed this heinous act responsible”
