Prosecutor: Argument Escalates to Fatal Stabbing

BOSTON, Dec. 20, 2016—An argument in a Fayston street apartment escalated to homicide overnight when a Dorchester woman grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed 34-year-old Sasha Morris to death, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

ELBA MORALES (D.O.B. 8/25/69) was arraigned on one count of murder for the incident on Fayston Street, which claimed Morris’ death at Boston Medical Center. At prosecutors’ request, Judge Lisa Ann Grant held Morales without bail.

Assistant District Attorney Craig Iannini told the court that Morales and Morris were at the apartment of Morris’ boyfriend when they began to argue in the kitchen. That argument became physical, Iannini said, and Morales took hold of a knife and stabbed Morris in the chest.

Morales allegedly fled the scene and went to the apartment of another person whom she knew in the same building. She then left the building and attempted to leave the area in that person’s vehicle but was stopped by responding Boston Police. Based on the statements of persons present at the scene, they took her into custody.

Morales was represented by attorney John Darrell. She will return to court on Jan. 18.
