REVERE MAN HELD FOR RACIST VANDALISM THAT THREATENED NEIGHBOR, PRESIDENT

A Revere man’s open bail on gun charges was revoked and new bail totaling $10,000 was set following his arraignment on charges that he spray painted racist messages threatening a neighbor and the President of the United States while free on a litany of gun charges, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley announced today.

Suffolk prosecutors assigned to Chelsea District Court recommended that JOHN SIECKARSKI (D.O.B. 5/11/59) of Revere be held on $10,000 cash bail following his November arrest by Revere Police on 22 counts each of unlawfully possessing firearms or ammunition in his home and improper storage of those firearms; a district court judge released him on his own recognizance.

Revere Police arrested Sieckarski again yesterday on a warrant charging him with spray painting a variety of racist slogans and messages on property belonging to one of his former neighbors, an African-American man. The graffiti included one message indicating that President Barack Obama should be “assinated” (sic) and another stating that the former neighbor in question “should die.”

At his arraignment yesterday, Suffolk prosecutors moved to have Sieckarski’s bail on the gun charges revoked and sought bail on the graffiti offenses as well. Chelsea District Court Judge James Wexler granted that motion, meaning that Sieckarski will be held without bail for up to 60 days. Wexler also set $5,000 cash bail each on the gun case and the vandalism case for a total of $10,000.

Investigators notified the United States Secret Service of the apparent threat against the President. A court clinician is expected to evaluate Sieckarski today for possible mental health issues. Suffolk prosecutors will review the case for potential civil rights charges as well.

Sieckarski is represented by attorney Andrew Gordon.
