STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE DOUBLE SHOOTING AT DCR FIELD

State Police detectives assigned to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office are investigating a shooting that left two teenagers injured at a state athletic complex yesterday evening.

State Police patrol units responded to the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Kelly Field in Hyde Park at about 6:15 p.m. for a report of two people shot. The victims, whose names are not being released, were identified as 17-year-old males, one from Hyde Park who sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and one from Mattapan who suffered gunshot wounds to his back and buttocks.

The Hyde Park victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Mattapan victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital. None of the injuries was deemed life-threatening.

State Police detectives assigned to the Suffolk DA’s office investigate all violent crimes on state property within the City of Boston. They are being assisted by State Police Troop H investigators. In light of this incident’s location, they have sought and obtained the assistance of Boston Police assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force. State Police criminalists and ballisticians also responded to gather and process evidence at the scene.
