State Police detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office and MBTA Transit Police are investigating the death of a 59-year-old West Roxbury woman on the Commuter Rail tracks near Highland Station.

A local resident called 911 at about 5:30 this morning to report discovering the woman’s body. Investigators arrived to find her dressed entirely in black and lying across the tracks suffering from massive trauma.

Though an investigation of the scene, circumstances, and last train to travel the area remains ongoing, detectives say her death does not appear to be a homicide.
