Suspect in Custody for Revere Double Homicide

BOSTON, Dec. 11, 2015—Revere Police and State Police detectives assigned to the Suffolk DA’s office and Revere Police have charged a Lynn man with a shooting that left two people dead and one seriously wounded last night, Chief Joseph Cafarelli and District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

MICHAEL DeLEON (D.O.B. 4/23/79) of Lynn was arrested this afternoon. He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Chelsea District Court.

Revere Police responded to 70 Waite St. just after 8:30 last night to find three people suffering from life-threatening gunshot injuries.  Peter Pitari, 66, and Cristy Johnson, 35, both of Revere, died of their injuries at area hospitals. A third victim, a 38-year-old male, was grievously injured and remains hospitalized.

In light of the victims’ injuries, Revere Police notified the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit, which has jurisdiction over death investigations in the City of Revere. Additional State Police assets, including the Crime Scene Services Section and troopers assigned to the Revere Barracks, also assisted.

Cafarelli and Conley reminded the public that he investigation remains very active: Anyone with information on the shooting or perpetrator — no matter how minor or peripheral it may seem — is asked to call the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817 or Revere Police detectives at 781-286-8340.
