State, Revere Police Investigating Fatal Crash

BOSTON, Dec. 13, 2013—State Police assigned to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office and Revere Police detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed one young man and left another with life-threatening injuries this morning.

Revere Police were called to 1936 North Shore Rd. shortly after 7:00 a.m. for the activation of a residential alarm. There they found a Subaru Impreza that had struck the home, causing major damage to the vehicle and serious injuries to two occupants. No one inside the home was injured.

One occupant, a 19-year-old Swampscott resident believed to be the driver, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital. Another, age 20 and also from Swampscott, was transported to Whidden Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Because the collision caused potentially fatal injuries, Revere Police notified State Police for assistance. The Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit, which has jurisdiction over death investigations in Revere, responded to the scene, as did troopers from the Revere barracks, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and other specialized units.

No charges have been sought at this time but the investigation into the cause and circumstances of the crash remains very active.
