Teen Held For Allegedly Stomping DYS Worker

An 18-year-old inmate at a Department of Youth Services center was ordered held for allegedly stomping a worker there after a younger inmate punched him so hard he fell to the floor and lost consciousness during a February incident that led to new charges against both of them, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

KENNY LAMOUR (D.O.B. 10/15/93), a resident at the John J. Connelly Youth Center in Roslindale, was arraigned today in Suffolk Superior Court following his indictment on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for the Feb. 14 incident that left a worker there with serious injuries.
Assistant District Attorney Mark Zanini, chief of Conley’s Juvenile Unit, recommended that he be held on $10,000 cash bail; Clerk Magistrate Gary D. Wilson imposed that amount.

Zanini told the court that SHAQUILLE BROWN (D.O.B. 12/7/94), also a resident at the Connelly Center, became agitated when the victim told him he couldn’t use the building’s recreation room that evening. Two other employees tried to calm Brown, but he allegedly punched the worker in the head with such force that the worker fell to the floor and began to convulse. Brown then allegedly kicked him in the head.
As additional staff tried to restrain Brown, Lamour allegedly stepped forward and stomped the victim and kicked him several times. Brown then allegedly kicked him again.

An ambulance transported the victim, who was bleeding from his nose and mouth, to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He suffered a broken nose and facial bruising and is believed to have had bleeding in his brain. He has since been released from the hospital.

Lamour was represented today by attorney Eliot Levine. He will return to court on June 13.
Brown was indicted as a youthful offender, which exposes him to the same punishment as an adult if convicted and opens his proceedings up to the public. He will be arraigned in the Juvenile Session of West Roxbury District Court on May 20.
