BOSTON, October 2, 2017— Three men were held without bail at their arraignments today in the June murder of 19-year-old Javoni Boyd, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

JAKYRES McKINNEY (D.O.B. 11/22/91) and KIJANA WALKER (D.O.B. 3/19/97) were arraigned this morning in Suffolk Superior Court on charges of first-degree murder, armed assault with intent to murder, and unlawful possession of a firearm; JEROME GREENAWAY (D.O.B. 10/7/92) was arraigned on identical charges this afternoon.  At the request of Assistant District Attorney Craig Iannini, Clerk Magistrate Lisa Medeiros ordered all three men held without bail.

Iannini told the court that Boyd was one of several people in the area of 165 Delhi St. at about 7:00 p.m. on June 13 when gunfire erupted.  Boyd was struck multiple times and died of his injuries.  None of the other individuals in the area were struck.

Evidence including witness statements and forensic evidence link the defendants to the murder, prosecutors said.  McKinney was arrested on June 26 and Walker a day later; both have remained in custody since that time.  Greenaway was apprehended Friday.

Michael Glennon is the DA’s assigned victim-witness advocate.  McKinney is represented by John Amabile, Walker by Michael Roitman, and Greenaway by Steve Weymouth.  All return to court Oct. 12.
