BOSTON, Sept. 26, 2016—Two East Boston residents have been indicted for murder in the June homicide of 19-year-old Blanca Lainez, whose body was found in a Princeton Street garage earlier this year, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

A Suffolk County grand jury today returned indictments charging JOSE HERNANDEZ (D.O.B. 6/25/00) and ANGEL ANTONIO RAMOS-OLIVA (D.O.B. 6/8/95) with first-degree murder.  Hernandez has been held without bail since his July 10 arrest and Ramos-Oliva since his arrest on Sept. 2.

Construction workers discovered Lainez’s body inside garage at 54 Princeton St. in East Boston on June 15.  She had been beaten and stabbed.

Boston Police homicide detectives identified the Hernandez and Ramos-Oliva through video evidence captured by multiple cameras in the area of the murder, forensic, and cell phone evidence.  Extensive cell phone contact between Lainez and Hernandez prior to the murder suggested animosity between the two, prosecutors said.

Assistant District Attorney John Verner of the DA’s Homicide Unit led the grand jury proceedings resulting in today’s indictments.  Eliana Builes is the DA’s assigned victim-witness advocate. Hernandez is represented by attorney James Coviello and Ramos-Oliva by attorney Robert Griffin.  They are expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court at a later date.
