Victim Identified in Fatal Chelsea Stabbing

State Police assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office and Chelsea Police detectives are investigating the stabbing of a 28-year-old Boston man who died of his injuries this morning.

Joaquin Aguilar of Allston succumbed this morning to multiple stab wounds sustained last night. As with all fatalities within the City of Chelsea, State Police homicide detectives are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his death with the assistance of the Chelsea Police Department and specialized State Police units.

Chelsea Police responded to a call for a man down in the vicinity of 87 Sixth St. shortly before 7:15 yesterday evening. On arrival, they found Aguilar suffering from multiple serious injuries. Cataldo Ambulance transported Aguilar to Massachusetts General Hospital for emergency surgery; he was alive upon admission to the hospital but died several hours later.
