Catherine Gomez, 35, was inside a Shawmut Street residence when she was struck by a bullet fired outside the building at about 12:05 on Saturday morning. She died at the scene. Based on the evidence developed thus far, investigators do not believe she was the intended target but was struck by an errant round fired during an altercation between two groups on the street.
